Pricing
Proper hoof care can be expensive, so it is important to remember what you are paying for. Prices do not just reflect the cost to trim and shoe a horse. They include the time, skill and knowledge the farrier brings to each horse to maintain their hooves for the rest of their lives. It is important to keep in mind, proper hoof care can also save you in fewer vet visits and fewer lameness issues - all of which means less time out of the saddle!

Happy Hooves, Happy Horse

Picture
It is very important to maintain regular trimming/shoeing cycles.
A typical horse needs to be trimmed/ shod on a 6-8 week schedule year round, varying slightly season to season. Some horses require attention even more frequently. This allows us to "maintain" good hoof health. When our Equine companions become overdue in their cycle we shift from "maintaining" their hooves to "recovering" their hooves. A consistent hoof care routine allows for optimal hoof health. Unmaintained hooves are more prone to excessive flare, cracks, bruising, breakage and can also cause /worsen a large number of pathologies and lameness issues.

Regular Hoof care is an essential step to maintaining a sound and happy horse.
